School homework workflow from School Admin to home
Connect the school, teacher, student and parent around the same homework record. Teachers set work, pupils complete it, progress updates, parents can follow learning at home, and School Admins can review the wider school picture. Needs practice becomes a next action, not a second spreadsheet.
One record, useful at four levels
- School Admin: see school-wide teachers, classes, pupils, homework completion, subject/year trends and learning indicators.
- Teacher: manage the class, assign or reuse homework, differentiate practice and review pupil/class progress.
- Student: see due work, complete questions, revisit mistakes and build a progress record.
- Parent: follow linked-child progress and support practice at home, including printable weekly homework.
The goal is to reduce repeated data entry: the same checked work can support the pupil, parent, teacher and School Admin views.
How the workflow runs
- Connect the school. Use Bromcom, Arbor, or a SIMS school through Wonde. SIMS stays provider Wonde, with School MIS SIMS. Homework Magic does not ask for a separate SIMS login.
- Assign the homework. Upload a file, type a set, choose from the homework library, or reuse past homework.
- Pupils complete it. The set appears on the school homework calendar. Library questions and other objective questions are marked when the answers can be checked.
- Mistakes and progress update. A marked mistake goes to homework mistakes. The score shows on progress. XP and gift points follow the same reward rules as other checked answers.
- Teachers see the class. Completion, score, strengths, and needs practice show for the pupil and the class. A teacher can assign a subject, or a subject topic, when someone needs practice.
- Daily practice follows that signal. The pupil and parent see the recommended practice. The study coach uses teacher needs practice first.
The import is for classes and pupils so homework can be set. It does not bring in attendance, medical details, SEND records, ethnicity, safeguarding notes, addresses, or parent records.
